DBX Dalek vs Wolverine by derekmetaltron

NO RULES! NO RESEARCH! JUST BLOODSHED! THIS IS… DBX!

In A Devastated AIM Base…

With a slash of his sharp Adamantium claws, the hairy mutant in blue and yellow codenamed Wolverine, though often known to his friends in the X-Men as Logan, stepped with a grunt through the last of the secure security doors via the hole he’d cut for himself into the secret base of AIM… Advanced Ideas Mechanics, aka terrorist wack jobs who traded HYDRA’s gun ho style for mad science. Course when ya got a giant floating head callin’ the shots with folks dressed like bee keepers, ya ain’t gonna be all that surprised they’re crazy. Wolverine thought with a smirk. Then it faded somewhat as he glanced about the darkened hallway, aware that the lights were flickering oddly, as if someone or something was trying to utilise a lot of power.

It would make sense, given that Beast had detected some odd readings emitting from the base they’d been set to assault after reports of something the AIM boys had discovered in the area. Logan had offered to do a bit of a pre rec, despite Summer’s protests, but the other had reasoned that if Wolverine was comfortable doing a chunk of the heavy lifting then who were they to stop him?

This though… something was off. As Logan moved deeper into the base he became aware that there hadn’t been any alarms triggered or yellowed clothed goons trying to give him a reason to show precisely why he was the best at what he-

He stopped dead as he was about to round the corner, catching the scent of death and chaos before he saw it. Dozens of AIM soldiers, cluttered about the hallway, guns clattered and bullets strewn just about everywhere. Those without helmets still on had wild, terrified expressions. And yet…

“The hell?” Wolverine had examined the nearest soldier to find no sign of any puncture point, gun or knifed weapon. What the heck had kill him and dozen more skilled soldiers. Granted that he could cleave through them easily with his mutant gifts, but he’d had left some evidence. But here there was absolutely no blood splatter. Whatever had killed them had been instant. Instant and… He sniffed the air carefully. “Some kinda discharge residue… faint but… almost like… electric. Hmph.” An energy weapon, then?

His side line skill as a would-be forensic detective would have to wait when he detected something via his enhanced senses. The odd light flickering was more pronounced here as he cautiously found an lab door opening… except to his mild surprise it appeared to have been blasted open from this side. The same smell again… stronger now. And ahead something else. An array of scents, nearly all of them…

“Alien.” He growled under his breath, adamantium claws sliding out quietly. Not that something who killed dozens of amoral bio-terrorists was exactly his worst enemy, hell he was likely going to try the same but… it paid to be cautious.

Trying to remain quiet, Logan stepped into the bright yet rapidly flickering lab. At the far end something in a weird pepper potted shaped golden armour was positioned by a master control panel, extending a… ok, that was definitely like a black sink plunger, heh – onto it, electric coursing into its body and lighting up an oval domed head with a set of what he guessed were lights where eyes would be on a hairy guy like him. More bodies were strewn about it, and as Logan stepped closer-

It was fast. Suddenly the domed twisted one eighty and an eyestalk with a blue glowing strobe fixed on the partly exposed Logan. Then-

“EX-TER-MIN-ATE!”

Dalek Fire by derekmetaltron

The Dalek took just one rel to unhook its manipulator arm from the download of the complete files of this facility, swivel its midsection to face the intruder and fire its gunstick, enveloping Logan in a bright blue light which was immensely painful. The intruder slammed to the floor, apparently dead and leaving the Dalek free to glide forwards and inspect this new downed opponent.

It had found itself in this place, reactivated via experiments the AIM scientists had done when they had located the buried sphere of its Void Ship. Like several Daleks of the Last Great Time War, under the direction of the Emperor dozens of single Daleks had been placed into Void Ships and shot into the darkness of the Void, designated to bleach the barriers of their own specific multiverse and into the untapped uncertainty of the Omniverse beyond. An array of Multiverses where the Time Lords would and could not interfere. With new specific multiverses the Daleks would be able to scout, scan for suitability… and then exterminate and conquer all of them. An ambitious plan, but the sheer amoral and ruthless natures of the Daleks and their Emperor had made them try it.

Unfortunately its own reactivation had been somehow delayed until the yellow clothed humans of this specific version of the planet Earth – a world which thanks to the interference of the feared and hated greatest enemy of the Daleks, the Doctor, they had whole databanks upon – had attempted to unlock its secrets. They had no doubt felt elated at their apparent victory when the ship opened… only to be exterminated, one by one. The Dalek had left a couple alive for a time to probe their minds, gleam some personal data about this reality where costumed humans possessed unnatural abilities, before it had elected to examine the facility’s database for more reliable material. The humans it had scanned couldn’t survive the process anyway.

But now this new unidentified hairy human in strange yellow and blue attire. Well, at least it was-

Wolverine Rage by derekmetaltron

The Dalek glided back suddenly with some internal form of alarm as Wolverine rose up, an enraged roar of rage on his lips. Whatever that creature had hit him with, it had hurt like hell, and even with his regenerative abilities his body had effectively become scrambled on the inside. Only his metal skeleton had lessened the worst of the damage, otherwise… would he had survived?

But right now Logan wasn’t fully thinking. The attack had triggered his berserker rage side and he lunged forwards at the metal machine, slicing at its mid-section before it had the chance to respond to such illogical and unexpected behaviour.

Both sides were somewhat surprised at the outcome. Instead of slicing directly through the alien casing, the claws simply created distinct but unbroken slashes into the armour. But the fact its casing could be damaged in such a way was alien to the Dalek.

Logan leapt back into a rolling before recovering, claws out as he recovered his composure slightly, glaring at the armoured creature as its eyestalk fixed on him.

“YOU ARE NOT DEAD. WHY?” The voice was harsh and stacco as the twin lights blared from its dome, yet Logan could hear the tone of anger and irritation in the alien machine’s words. “YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN EX-TER-MIN-A-TED! SCAN RE-QUIR-ED!” Utilising a deep internal scan in a fraction of a Rel, the Dalek was able to determine that this particular human was highly unusual. Cell structure appeared to be replicating at an incredible, repairing all damage that which the Dalek’s high intensity ray had caused.

Even so, Logan felt dazed and irritable as he gave the creature his own check over for pressure points and weak points in its armour. If he could take down Sentinels without much of a sweat this would be the same. Tough… and maybe a tad fun. He managed a smirk, despite the pain. “Not what you expected, hey bub?”

“SCANS SHOW YOUR PHYS-I-CAL STRUCT-URE IS CON-TAR-Y TO KNOWN HU-MAN BI-OL-O-GY.”

“I’d call that being a mutant, pepper-pot. And that skeleton of mine yeh probably scannin’? Pure adamantium, the hardest and strongest there is. Guess it countered your quaint little death ray, so if that’s all you got, you’re in for a world of hurt!” Logan raised his claws into an attack gesture.

“YOU WOULD THREAT-EN THIS DA-LEK WITH CLAWS?” The tone was almost mocking, Logan thought. “DAL-EK LIFE IS SU-PER-I-OR TO ALL, YOUR BLADE WEA-PONS ARE SIG-NIF-I-CANT BUT NO MATCH FOR THIS DA-LEK! MY CAS-ING IS NOT IM-PAIRED! DA-LEK-TAN-I-UM IS STRON-GER!”

“Whatever helps you sleep at night, ‘Dalek’. But ya wanna dance? Come on then!”

“YOU WILL BE EX-TER-MIN-AT-ED!”

IT’S ADAMANTIUM VS DALEKANIUM! LET’S GOOOOO!

To be continued....

Putting this into two parts since the opening got a little long, the full fight will be in the second part. It's likely with my versions of DBX that I will have two conclusions where you can pick your victor and outcome. Wolverine belongs to Marvel Comics and the Daleks belong to the BBC. In any case, hope you enjoy! :)
